Single;Kids: Sarah(33) & Audrey(32);

History: After a few years at MSU, changing my major every semester, I got married in 1973 and moved to Tucson (it's a dry heat, like a blowtorch). I have two daughters. Sarah is 33 and practices medicine in Austin, Texas. She met her husband (a school teacher) while they were both over in Africa, in the Peace Corps. Can you pronounce Namibia? Audrey is 32 and she did AmeriCorps after college and now works as the activities facilitator for an assisted living facility here in Tucson. She takes her therapy dog, Ruby, into work with her about twice a week.

I went back to school at the University of Arizona around 1985 and got divorced between my BachelorÕs and MBA. In high school, I thought the greatest job would be to be the hostess at Blazo's. My first job ended up being at Chicken Delight (on Mack at Warren). I've worked as a corporate financial accountant for 15 years. The last years were at Weiser Lock, a manufacturing company owned by Masco. I did the financial statements for 4 countries. Masco sold us to Black & Decker and then B&D closed down the Tucson operations. I am now in my fourth year of teaching financial and managerial accounting classes full time at Pima Community College here in Tucson.

I had tried out for the Gallagher swim team back then but did not make the cut. I swim laps here and I think I could make the team now. I have hiked the Grand Canyon, down the south rim and out the north rim, twice. The first time I didn't know any better and the second time I should have known better.

Before flying out of Metro Sunday after the reunion, I bought myself a Detroit T-shirt to wear at home here in Tucson. I debated heavily, very heavily, over the big jar(s) of Saunders hot fudge topping (when did they introduce so many different flavors?), but I was strong and managed to leave without one (or two, or three). Here in Tucson, we don't have Saunders and it is very difficult to even find diet Vernors. My dad (my parents are here in Tucson with me) and I usually buy out the shelf when we do manage to find it.

So thank you all for a wonderful weekend and a very big thank you to those of you on the reunion committee who worked so hard to put this all together. And a special thanks to Doug for all his work on the website. I have really enjoyed it. Detroit will always be home and I love coming back to visit. I left when I was 23 so I have been gone a long time. I did some (I can't say most) of my growing up here in Detroit and I am very glad that I transferred to St. Philomena in the middle of 8th grade and was able to make good friends there before starting high school. Please send snow!
