History: Graduated from Michigan in 1974, moved to Minnesota and studied Landscape Architecture, graduated 1979, moved to Australia in 1981 and did a Masters in Environmental Studies at U. Melbourne, ended up in Tasmania, the island state of Australia where I fell in love with the wilderness, living on an island and in a regional centre (Hobart) but with access to all the benefits of a State capitol. Have worked for myself since 1987 that has given me the flexibility to live a good life in a place with clean air and water, relatively little crime and access to world class landscapes... and when I get island fever... I can get away to the great cities of the world.

Favorite activities: Enjoy family and friends, travel, hiking, skiing, senior softball and happy hour.

History: What I’ve been doing for the last 50 years: After high school I joined the Navy, where I was able to use the discipline I learned from Brother Dominic and Mr. Viviano. I was stationed in northern California and Philippines and visited many ports in Southeast Asia.

After my discharge I returned to Michigan, had a baby and went back to school. I graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation I went to work for Hewlett Packard in northern California. I stayed there 5 years, and then moved to Phoenix to be with family and work for Digital Equipment Corporation for 7 years. Then, I went to work for Honeywell Aerospace supporting mainly, the International Space Station for 26 years. I retired in 2017. Since then we completed a new vacation home in the mountains near Flagstaff, AZ.

I am looking forward to going back to Michigan to attend our 50 year high school reunion and seeing my old friends.

History: I graduated from Wayne State University in 1975, worked for 3 years as a social worker and then "retired" for 3 years, during which I traveled extensively (Carribean, Central and South America, Europe, Kenya) and just generally had a great time. I then decided I should get back to work, but wanted a career change so I went to nursing school and got another bachelor's degree. Soon afterwards, I got married and I've got 2 great boys. I've been happily divorced for 15 years. In 1998, I finished my MSN and now work for Wayne State University Physician Group. I'm a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and really enjoy my work. I still love to travel, but its different now - not like the adventure travel I used to love! I like to stay active, but . . . well, we are ALL 58 now, so . . . no explanation needed. HISTORY: I've been married 35 years to a great guy I sat next to the first day of an English class at U of M in 1972. We moved to Chicago (after he finished U of M Law School) in 1976. I completed a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from the Univ. of Chicago in 1982. I worked as a research scientist for a while and then taught in the Bio Dept at Lake Forest College. Blake and Alexandra, our two children recently graduated from U of Illinois.

My life took a surprising turn and I began writing poetry as part of my healing process. Fourteen years ago I began sharing these poems with others.
