HISTORY: Its pretty tough to summarize 40 years in a few sentences, but I will do my best! After graduation, I attended Michigan Tech for 2 years to study Mechanical Engineering. I was not ready for college, so after 2 years of struggling with my grades and some "trouble" issues at school, MI Tech asked me not to return. I came back home and got a job doing drafting, which I really enjoyed. I also got into car racing. While working, I went back to school at night and at age 32 finally got a degree in Engineering. In 1978, I got a job with a company called Haden Schweitzer and married for the first time to my racing partners sister. In 1987, I left Haden to start my own Engineering business, which I had for 5 years, before I "lost" the business. Three years into that business, I was divorced.

In 1992, I returned to my old job at Haden and was married to my current wife. Susan and I lived in Sterling Heights and stayed there until 1998, when we moved to our current home in Grand Blanc. In 1996, we were blessed with our first daughter, Nicole. Eighteen months later, Nicole had a sister, Caitlin. I was just starting a family when some of my piers where just having their first grandchildren! That pretty much gets us up to the current times.

This June, my wife and I will be married for 18 years. My girls are now 12 and 13 and they definately help keep me young. They attend Grand Blanc East Middle School. I did finally give soccer coaching at age 55, realizing it was getting too tough to continue running with the young kids. I am currently employed with a company in Holly, MI as the Engineering Manager. TMI Custom Air specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of very custom HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) units.

I spend most of my time working and taking my girls around for all of their activities. I have always been car crazy and enjoy going to area car shows and cruises. I know that I can never retire, I'm still mentally adjusting to the fact and praying that I will stay healthy enough to work until I am 70.

After graduation, I did not maintain contact with anyone from high school. The only person I have periodic contact with is Paul Verschaeve. For that reason, I do not plan to attend the 40 year reunion. It is pretty cool to see some of the names of the people from the past. I recognize more names then I thought, but not as many as I should - too many brain cells have been killed over the years! I do wish the entire class of 1970 the best - hoping everyone maintains health and finally gets to enjoy life in retirement!
